Verusenaga Laddu (Peanut Ladoo)

Serving size of Verusenaga Laddu : 2 or 3 per person

Ingredients required to prepare Verusenega Laddu :

Ground Nuts – 1 cup

Jaggery/ Sugar – ¾ cup

Cardamom powder – ¼ tbsp

Ghee – 2 – 3 tbsps

Directions required to prepare Verusenaga Laddu :

  1. The first step to prepare Verusenaga Laddu, take the ground nuts and clean them for impurities. Then dry roast the ground nuts for about five minutes. Keep stirring so that ground nuts will not burn. Then keep it aside and let them cool.

  2. Once the roasted ground nuts are cooled, rinse them with hands to peel the layer and keep them aside.

  3. Pour the peeled ground nuts into a mixer jar and grind them into powder (Don’t make it too powdery).

  4. Then take jaggery and grate it with grater. No need to add water.

  5. If you are using sugar, you may powder the sugar using mixer grinder or leave it as it is.

  6. Now take wide bowl and add grinded ground nut powder, cardamom powder and grated jaggery or sugar and mix everything properly.

  7. Now take another small bowl and add ghee into it. Let it heat.

  8. Once the ghee is hot, pour little by little into the ground nut powder mixture and mix again.

  9. Then apply oil or ghee to your hands and take some ghee mixed ground nut mixture into your hands and mould it into a small ball.

  10. Repeat the same process until all the powder is completed.

  11. With this the Verusenaga Laddu is ready to be savored.

  12. Transfer the Laddus into a container for storage.

Note : Verusenaga Laddu may be served as a sweet snack.

About : Ground nuts are considered to be very good for health. However, they contain natural fat which may lead to weight gain.
