To prepare tasty and Andhra famous Sunnundalu, we need to bengal grams in water and drain the water.
Then take a wide clean cloth and spread the washed bengal gram on the cloth and let them dry for some time.
It is better to dry them in sun.
After the bengal grams are dried, take a bowl and dry roast the dried bengal gram and keep it aside.
Now take jagger or sugar. If you are using jaggery, you have to grate it. In case of sugar it should be powdered using a grinder. Transfer it to a bowl.
Now grind the fried bengal gram into powder using a mixer grinder.
Then add the Bengal gram powder and cardamom powder to the sugar/ jaggery and mix everything properly.
Now take a small bowl and add ghee to it. Let it heat.
Once the ghee is hot pour little by little on to the Bengal gram powder and mix.
Take the some of the ghee mixed powder into your hands and mould it into a ball.
Repeat the same procedure until all the powder is finished.
Place them in a plate and serve.
Note : Sunnudalu may be served as a sweet snack.
About : Sunnudalu are usually made for festivals and special occasions. They have healthy ingredients such as Bengal gram which gives proteins, jaggery and ghee. Dry fruits may also be used as a ingredient to add to the powder used to make sunnundalu.
