Ingredients required to prepare Saggubiyyam Payasam :
Sago – 1 cup
Milk – ½ litre
Sugar – ½ cup
Cardamom powder – ¼ tbsp
Ghee – 2 – 3 tbsps
Dry fruits – ¼ cup
Directions required to prepare Saggubiyyam Payasam :
To prepare Saggubiyyam payasam, gather all the ingredients and keep them ready.
Then take a bowl and add ghee to it. Let is heat.
Once the ghee is hot enough, add dry fruits such as raisins, cashew nuts to the ghee and fry them until they turn golden brown.
Transfer the dry fruits to a small bowl and keep them aside.
Now add sago to the same bowl and fry them for some time.
Now take the milk and add it to the sago and let it boil.
The fried sago will be cooked along with the milk. Let them cook for about ten to fifteen minutes.
Stir the contents so that it will not burn.
Now add sugar and cardamom powder. Stir until the sugar is melted.
Then cook for another 3 to 5 mins on a low flame.
Switch off the stove and add dryfruits on top.
Your yummy Saggubiyyam payasam is ready to be savored.
Note : Saggubiyyam payasam may be served as desert or sweet snack.
