Ravva Laddu (Semolina sweet balls)

Serving size of Ravva Laddu : 2 or 3 per person

Ingredients required to prepare Ravva Laddu :

Rice – 1 cup

Sugar – ¾ cup

Cardamom powder – ¼ tbsp

Cashew nuts – 10

Raisins – 15 – 20

Ghee – 2 – 3 tbsps

Directions required to prepare Ravva Laddu :

  1. The first step to prepare Ravva Laddu, take the rice and clean them for impurities. You may have to wash them with water to remove and dirt and dry them before roasting.

  2. Then pour the dried rice into a mixer jar and grind it into rough powder.

  3. Now dry roast the rice powder for about five minutes. Keep stirring so that rice will not burn. Then keep it aside and let them cool.

  4. If you are using sugar, you may powder the sugar using mixer grinder or leave it as it is.

  5. Fry the cashew nuts and raisins in ghee.

  6. Now take wide bowl and add grinded rice powder, cardamom powder and grated jaggery or sugar and mix everything properly. Add the roasted dry fruits also to it before mixing.

  7. Now take another small bowl and add ghee into it. Let it heat.

  8. Once the ghee is hot, pour little by little into the rice powder mixture and mix again.

  9. Then apply oil or ghee to your hands and take some ghee mixed rice mixture into your hands and mould it into a small ball.

  10. Repeat the same process until all the powder is completed.

  11. With this the Ravva Laddu is ready to be savored.

  12. Transfer the Laddus into a container for storage.

Note : Ravva Laddu may be served as a sweet snack.
