Serving size of Palli chekka : one or two per person
Ingredients required to prepare Palli chekka :
Ground nuts : 1 cup
Jaggery : 3/4 cup
Water : ½ cup (required to make jaggery syrup)
Directions to prepare Palli chekka:
The first step to prepare Palli chekka, take the ground nuts and clean them for impurities. Then dry roast the ground nuts for about five minutes. Keep stirring so that ground nuts will not burn. Then keep it aside and let them cool.
Once the roasted ground nuts are cooled, rinse them with hands to peel the layer and keep them aside.
Then take jaggery and grate it with grater and use water to melt it and make it into thick syrup by boiling it on low flame and let it cool.
Now add the fried and peeled ground nuts to the jaggery syrup and mix well without forming any lumps.
Then pour the mixture on to a plate and flatten it with a spoon into any shape such as circle, rectangle or square and let it dry for some time.
After the mixture is dried, break it into small pieces.
With this tasty palli chekka are ready to be served.
Transfer all the palli chekka pieces to a container for storage.
Note : Palli chakka may be served as a sweet snack.
