Nuvvundalu (White sesame seed Jaggery Balls)

Serving size of Nuvvundalu : one or two per person
Ingredients required to prepare Nuvvundalu :

White Sesame Seeds : 1 cup

Jaggery : 3/4 cup

Water : ½ cup

Directions to prepare Nuvvundalu :
1. The first step to prepare Nuvvundalu is to clean the white sesame seeds and check for any impurities. Then wash them with water and drain the water.
2. Once all the water is drained, take a wide clean cloth and spread the washed white sesame seeds on top of the cloth and let then dry.
3. After the white sesame seeds are dried, take a pan and heat it. Then dry roast the white sesame seeds for 3 minutes. Keep it aside and let them cool.
4. Then take jaggery and grate it with grater and use water to melt it and make it into thick syrup by boiling it on low flame and let it cool.
5. Now add the fried white sesame seeds to the jaggery syrup and mix well without forming any lumps.
6. Keep the mixture aside for some time and then take little amount of the jaggery syrup and fried white sesame seeds mixture into your hands to mould them into small ball.
7. Make sure to apply oil to your hands before you start molding the balls to make the job easy.
8. Repeat the same process until the mixture is finished.
9. With this tasty Nuvvundalu are ready to be served.
10. Transfer all the Nuvvundalu to a container for storage.
Note : Nuvvundalu may be served as a sweet snack.
About : Nuvvundalu is a snack which is very easy to prepare. It is also considered to healthy because of its ingredients. It is especially rich in iron. However, excessive consumption may produce heat.
