Masala Khakhra | How to make Masala Khakhra: Masala Khakhra is a Gujarati delicacy.You can make Masala Khakhras and store in an air tight container and can have them for your late night binge eating without any remorse ( being a healthy snack) or during travel or for kids. Even though Gujarat is having a rich coastline, it has a rich tradition of vegetarianism. Dry roasted Khakra is an healthy option as well as satisfies your taste buds. Ingredients
Wheat flour- 150gms
Gramflour - 20gms or 2 tablespoon
Kasurimethi-1tblsp
Ajwan-1tsp
Asafetida-1/2pinch
Turmeric-1/4 tsp
Cumin seeds-1/4 tsp
Redchili powder-1/4tsp
Green chili-1(finely chopped)
Salt-to taste
Oil-2tsp
Milk-1/2cup
Instructions
Mix all the ingredients well.
Add milk to the flour to make small portions and knead the dough.
Don’t knead the dough too stiff or too soft.
Knead a little stiff and tight dough that required to make chappathis.
Cover the dough and keep it aside for 15-20mins
After 20mins now grease oil to your hands and once again knead the dough
Now make small balls to make khakhra
Take one small dough and cover the rest so that they don’t get dry.
Now roll the dough like chapatti mean while preheat the pan.
Khakhra should be thin if needed add flour for dusting remove the excess flour and make it thin.
Pan should not be too hot it should be on low flame.
Place the rolled khakhra on pan and mean while do the rest.
Khakhra should be evenly roasted on both sides. press gently on the khakhra so that bubbles will form and flip to other side you can keep oil on both sides, If you want without oil , you can prepare without oil also.
Do the rest of khakhra. They will look like papads.
