Kobbari Laddu (Coconut sweet balls)

Serving size of Kobbari Laddu : 1 or 2 per person

Ingredients required to prepare Kobbari Laddu 

Coconuts – 2

Sugar / Jaggery – 1 cup

Cardamom powder – ¼ tsp

Ghee / Oil – required amount

Water – required amount

Directions required to prepare Kobbari Laddu :

  1. To prepare tasty and yummy Kobbari Laddu, we need to take first break the coconuts and grate them with the help of a grater.

  2. If you are using jaggery, grate it too after the coconut and pour water into the bowl with grated jaggery and stir until it is melted on a low flame until thick syrup is formed.

  3. In case of sugar follow the same process except that there is no need of grating.

  4. Once the syrup is cooked, keep it aside.

  5. Now take a pan and add oil or ghee to it. Let it heat.

  6. Once the ghee or oil is heated, add the grated coconut to it and fry for 3 to 4 minutes.

  7. Switch off the stove and add cardamom powder, then pour the sweet syrup into the pan and mix well.

  8. If required cook for some time until the mixture becomes thick enough to make balls.

  9. Once the mixture is thick enough, take the mixture little by little into your hands and make small balls. Repeat the process until all the mixture is finished.

  10. With this tasty and yummy Kobbari Laddu is ready to be savoured.

Note : Kobbari Laddu may be served as a sweet snack.

About : Kobbari Laddu is made for festivals or special occasions. Its ingredients such as coconut, ghee and jaggery are very good for health. Use of jaggery is recommended instead of sugar because of the latters effect on health.
