Fish fry is a great starter. The dish fish fry is simple easy as well as tasty.I am sure each area or house hold has its own variation in the recipe mainly in the marination of the fish. The fish fry can be served as a stater or as a side dish for a variety of rice.

Fish dishes are common in places near to sea as well as other places. Fish has an important influence in the human civilization. Old wives tale of fish being the food for brain seems hold true. According to Dr. John A. Boockvar, an assistant professor ( brain surgery) at Cornell University’s Weill Medical College stated to The New York Times that Unless the fish is poisoned with mercury, it is not going to harm you and everyone knows that it improves your brain functioning.

The omega-3 fatty acids : Omega-3 fatty acids are useful in the building of brain cell membranes.
A study by Ernst Schaefer, M.D., of Tufts University on 900 elderly people has found that those who take 2 fish serving per week has less possibility of developing Alzheimer’s disease and dementia.Fish as food contains vitamin D which helps in better brain function.

Before doing a research on the benefits of the fish, I never knew that the fish, the lady bring daily to my house has so much value as a food.

There are a different varieties or fish fry namely, The Kerala fish fry, Chettinad fish fry, the North Indian fish fry using Basen as an outer covering etc.

For the best fish fry the selection of the fish is very important. Those who lives in the coastal areas know the importance of the fresh fish.If possible buy direct from the fisher men near the sea.where you get the fresh fish. Freshness of the fish is a very important factor in the taste of the fish fry.

Once the fish is bought, the next factor is the slicing of the pieces. Pieces should not be too thin or too big. If the size of the fish slice is too small, the fried fish will be crispy in nature. If the slices are too big, it will not cook properly. Ideal slice should be 2 inches long and 3/4 to 1 inch inch width.

Marination of the fish is an important factor in preparing the fish fry. If the slices are not properly marinated, you will feel like eating raw fish. I will explain how to marinate properly

User the correct oil of you choice preferably with high smoke point. Check the list to find the oil with high smoke point of your choice. You can use refined sunflower oil, Rice barn oil or groundnut oil or for the matter any oil of your choice and taste.

Fry the fish properly so that we get a crunchy outer cover and soft and cooked inner part

Garnish and decorate according to your choice. I prefer thin slices of onion rings, mixed properly with a teaspoon of natural vinger and thinly sliced green chilly garnishing.
