Lololikka Achar Recipe | Love lovi Pickle Recipe
  • Lololikka - 1 kg
  • Chilly powder ½cup
  • Red Chillies 6-8 nos
  • Mustard Seeds 2 tsp
  • Fenugreek(Uluva) (roasted and powdered) - 1 tsp
  • Asafoetida(Kayam) - ½ tsp
  • Garlic ( Chopped 4 tsp
  • Curry Leaves 3 Sprigs
  • Vinegar - 4 tsp
  • Salt ½ Cup
  • Water 1.5cups
  • gingelly oil - ¾ cup
  • Turmeric powder -- A pinch

  1. Boil the Lololi-kka in water, till the colour changes and becomes tender.
  2. Keep it aside to cool and then cut into 4 - 5 pieces.
  3. Add salt and mix well.:- Do not discard the boiled water.
  4. Heat gingelly oil in a pan or a kadai or pan.
  5. Splutter mustard seeds.
  6. Saute garlic, chilly, curry leaves and spice powders.
  7. Mix in the cut Lololikka and saute for 2 mins.
  8. Add the boiled water and allow it to boil.
  9. Once it starts to boil, switch off the stove.
  10. Wait for the pickle mix to be of luke warm temperature.
  11. Add 2 tsp of vinegar.
  12. Rinse the clean and dry bottle for storing the pickle with vinegar.
This pickle can be used from the next day itself and can be stored for a month and more, if refrigerated

Add the powders on a low flame to avoid them getting burnt. :- Can add more chilly powder if you want it more spicy.

Do not boil lololikka too much as it may spoil.
