Chegodi is a unique crispy snack from Andhra Pradesh which is made of rice flour and have the shape of  a ring. it is one of the traditional snack that is being prepared during festival such Divali and Sankranti. It has a unique golden colour, ring shaped speckled with ajwain and Moong daal.

Serving size of Chegodi



Ingredients to Prepare Chegodi

  1. Rice flour – 2cups
  2. Water – 2cups
  3. Salt – as per your taste
  4. Red chilli – 2tsps
  5. Oil for deep fry
  6. Ghee – 2 tblsp
  7. Ajowan – 2tsps
  8. Moong dal – 2tsps

Preparation Method

  • Take a pan add water, salt, red chili, Ajwain, Moongdaal to it.
  • Bring the water to boiling point.
  •  When it gets bubble add 2tsps of Ghee.
  •  Now slowly add Rice flour into the boiling water, make sure you don’t make lumps.
  • Switch off the stove and let it cool after that u can make soft dough.
  •  After preparing the dough take small dough and roll them and twist round to your finger to form a ring

How to make Chegodi Rings

















  • Do the same process to the remaining dough
  • Now heat the oil for deep fry.
  •  Fry them in a medium flame till it gets golden brown color.
  • Serve it as and when required
