Cabbage Pakodi (Cabbage Bhajji)

Serving size of Cabbage Pakodi : one small plate full per person

Ingredients required to prepare Cabbage Pakodi :

Cabbage – 200 gms

Onion – 1 – 2

Green chillis – 4 – 5

Chick pea flour – 1 cup

Rice flour – ½ cup

Jeera – ½ tbsp

Ginger garlic paste – 1/2 tsp

Curry leaves – 2 leaf lets

Salt – required amount

Oil – required amount for deep frying

Directions required to prepare Cabbage pakodi :

  1. To prepare the tasty snack Cabbage Pakodi, first we need to wash the cabbage, green chilies and onion with clean water.
  2. Then slice into pieces and keep them aside.
  3. Now take a bowl and add chick pea flour, rice flour, chopped green chilies, onion, cabbage, required amount of salt, jeera, ginger garlic paste, shredded curry leaves and mix them properly.
  4. Now add just little water to the mixture i.e. enough to make nard batter (pour very little water).
  5. Now take a bowl and pour oil required for deep frying into it Let the oil heat.
  6. Once the oil is hot, take little amount of batter into your hands and drop little by little into the oil in the form of small lumps.
  7. Let them fry until they turn golden brown. Stir with spoon to avoid buring.
  8. Remove them with a holed ladle and transfer to a plate with tissue paper.
  9. Repeat the process until all the batter is completed.
  10. Serve them hot with chutney.

Note : Cabbage Pakodi may be served a snack for guests. It is very tasty with green chutney, tomato chutney etc.

About : Cabbage pakodi is rich in proteins as it is made of chickpea flour. Good for children as a snack
