Boppayikaya Pachadi (Papaya Pachadi)

Boppayikaya Pachadi (Papaya Pachadi) 

Serving size of Boppayikaya pachadi :  4

Ingredients required to make Boppayikaya Pachadi :

Papaya                                   –        250 gms

Green chilli                             –        4 -5

Coconut                                 –        25 gms

Jeera                                                –        1 tbsp

Mustard                                  –        1/2 tbsp

Turmeric powder                   –        1/4 tbsp

Dry red chilli                           –        2

Curry leaves                          –        2 leaf lets

Curd                                        –       25 gms

Garlic cloves                          –        4

Salt                                         –        required amount

Oil                                           –        3-4 tbsps
Directions to prepare boppayikaya pachadi :

  1. To prepare tasty and healthy boppayikaya pachadi, select a very slightly ripened papaya (It should not be soft).
  2. Peel the skin of the papaya and clean it before cutting into pieces
  3. Take a bowl and transfer the papaya pieces into the bowl, then add required amount of salt to the pieces and boil them.
  4. After the pieces are cooked, let them cool
  5. Take a mixer jar and grind the coconut, green chili, jeera and grind them
  6. Add this coconut paste along with curd to the cooked papaya pieces and mix them well.
  7. Then take a bowl and pour oil and let it heat.
  8. After the oil is heated, add pulses, jeera, mustard, turmeric powder, dry red chili, curry leaves, garlic cloves and fry them for a minute. Add little bit of salt and mix before adding papaya coconut mixture at the end.
  9. With this the tasty boppayikaya pachadi is ready to taste.

Note: Boppayikaya pachadi can be eaten with rice during lunch and dinner. This fruit is very famous in Andhra and the plant can be seen in most of the households.
