Benefits of bitter gourd for diabetes:
Bitter gourd contains a compound called Polypeptide-p or p-insulin which controlls the diabetis.A clinical trial shows that 2000 mg of bitter melon taken for a week significiantly reduces the blood sugar levels.

Bitter gourd Prevents Skin Problems, prevent Skin Infections, has Anti-Aging and Healing Qualities.

Health benefits of bitter gourd for weight loss
It prevents the body from absorbing excess sugar from the body and thus reduces the weight. Also bitter gourd increases the beta cells in pancreas which is responsible for the production of insulin and manages the sugar absorbtion in the body

Indian bitter melon or desi melons are considered to be more nutritious than Chinese bitter melon. I have come across questions like ” where to buy bitter melon juice ” from my health conscious friends. But why you want to buy bitter melon fruit juice when you can easily prepare without any preservatives. Even though the karela health benefits are numerous, some asks for the bitter melon side effects. I can say moderate use of any natural vegetables are going to help the user and excessive use of any thing can really hurt. The method of juicing bitter melon is given here.
I have given two recipes of bitter melon Juice one is pure karela juice and another one is a mixture juices. For beginers you can start with the mixed ones and later once you adjust with the taste you can start using the pure bitter gourd juice.

Bitter Gourd Juice Recipe | Bitter Melon Juice | Karela Juice

Ingredients
  • One medium bitter gourd
  • Two stalks of celery
  • Two or three Indian apples
  • One medium cucumber
  • One teaspoon of lemon juice
Instructions
The bitter gourd fruit mixture
  1. Cut the bitter gourd in two halves elongated. Deseed the bitter melon and chop the flesh in to small pieces.
  2. Clean and chop other vegetables/ fruits and use a juicer or blender to extract the juiceout of the mixture.
  3. Add lemon juice and taste it. If the juice is too bitter, you can add more fruits if your chhoice and blen it and have it
For Pure bitter gourd Juice
  1. Peel off the outer skin of bitter melon. This may reduce the bitterness. Cut the bitter melon thriugh the center.Deseed it and chop the bittermelon vegetable in to small pieces
  2. Dump the vegetable in to a bowl of water with a bit ( ¼ teaspoon ) of turmerice powder and let it soak for half an hour.
  3. Add bitter melon in a juicer and extract the juice
  4. Add a teaspoon of lemon juice if required.
  5. If the juice is too bitter, tyou can add honey and pepper powder for a better taste
Options
  1. If you like the taste of green chili. Add one and juice it
  2. You can add black salt or chaat masala for a better taste if you really like it.
  3. You can add pudina or coriander leaves or both for a different taste
