Great Indian Breakfast recipe ideas (Healthy Breakfast): India is blessed with diversity in many aspects, so is its food habits. Here is a list of Indian Breakfast Indians savor and start their day. Food habits develop based on the climate and other environmental factors. Each of these dishes is best suited for the environment they are in and are equally tasty. Being a foodie, I like each and every dish depicted here and this is my personal collection of Breakfast recipe.
Idli recipe from Tamil Nadu: Idli is a traditional breakfast in South Indian households. Idli is a savory cake that is popular throughout India and neighboring countries like Sri Lanka. The cakes are usually two to three inches in diameter and are made by steaming a batter consisting of fermented black lentils (de-husked) and rice. The fermentation process breaks down the starches so that they are more readily metabolized by the body.
Masala Dosa recipe from Karnataka: Masala dosa or Masale Dose is a variant of the popular South Indian food, Dosa. It is made from rice, potato, methi, curry leaves and served with Chutneys and Sambar. Though it was only popular in South India,it can be found almost in all other parts of the country, and even outside the country now.In South India preparation of masala dosa varies from city to city.Masala Dosa was ranked number 4 on the list of ‘10 foods to try before you die‘, compiled by US newspaper.
Poori Alu recipe from streets of Delhi : The Hot poori and aloo curry from by lanes of Chandni chowk in Old Delhi is the best one I ever had. Having poori and aloo early in the winter foggy mornings leaves me with a nostalgic feeling of the capital city. I tried to add ingredients to get the exact taste of the Delhi street food.
Thukpa recipe – Noodle Soup of Arunachal Pradesh :Thukpa, is a Noodle Soup with it’s roots from Tibet and digging deeper, it’s said to have come there from China. It is now had as a staple in Bhutan, Nepal and very popular in the North-Eastern States of India as well, with little and subtle variations depending on regions and availability.
